Have you ever seen what is done to a drag race car to make it more lightweight therefore giving it more speed? They gut it. At this point, especially after hearing strong rumors that the (much better) Womanizer Pro40 is being phased out with the Starlet being kept as the “affordable option”, I’m losing my loyalty to this brand. I knew that the name, and the price, was such a big deterrent but I had good reasons. When I first read about the Womanizer Starlet I was intrigued and happy – finally, a Womanizer product under $100! But would the Starlet retain all of the features I’ve loved in the Womanizer brand? For a long time, despite the gendered name, I have been steadfast with preferring the Womanizer brand due to the build quality, the motor, and the features – features like the up/down/off buttons, long battery run, better head/nozzle, good range of intensity. The Womanizer 2GO is hailed as the travel version yet it’s comically large where the Starlet is comically small and can be compared, size-wise, to the Satisfyer Pro Traveler. The classic red lipstick evokes Hollywood and glamour and feminine ways, all things that I think of when I hear the word ‘starlet’. The Starlet takes a more space-efficient approach to design condensed as much as possible, it’s functional but awkward to hold, especially if your hand gets slippery. As soon as I received the Womanizer Starlet from SheVibe I immediately wondered if somewhere in the marketing meetings there was a mix-up over at the company making Womanizer products and the ‘Starlet’ name was supposed to go to the large lipstick look-alike version. I like the Womanizer Pro40‘s longer handle because it’s easier to hold during use. It doesn’t make it easier to hold, though. It’s about 50% the height of the Pro40, making it a lot easier to store. Well, let’s get the obvious out of the way first, shall we? The Womanizer Starlet is a lot smaller and, in a sense, more manageable. This toy is also lightweight, weighing a mere 70 grams. In short: it’s a condensed version of previous Womanizer models. On the front, below the head, there’s a flexible charging port cover that you pull up when you’re ready to charge. The body is tiny on the back there’s a single round button for functions. There is a white silicone “stimulation head” that’s removable for easy cleaning. The design of this model is simple and traditional. Clean silver and white = blissful simplicity. Isn’t it cute? Though also available in fuschia or purple, I’m a fan of the Snow colour. That’s not to say I’m not curious about new models though I’m loyal to sex toys only to a point - I’m always willing to see if new ones can overthrow my previous favourites.Įnter the Womanizer Starlet. Having tried several, it’s safe to say that the Womanizer Pro40 (review here) has remained my favourite toy in this genre. Womanizer themselves has regurgitated this idea again and again. Womanizer was the first brand to come out with this idea, and there have been several similar designs (most notably by Satisfyer). Like previous models, the Starlet pleasures the clitoris without any direct contact - instead, it uses a series of pressure waves (tiny little micro-suctions). The Womanizer Starlet is the latest in the long and epic line of Womanizer toys. So of course, I needed to test and compare them rigorously. The Womanizer Starlet is an itsy bitsy teensy weensy version of my favorite pressure wave toy, the Womanizer Pro40.
